This week, we’re turning over the blog to the dads in celebration of Father’s Day. Follow along to see what they have to say about parenting, kids and marriage.
As many of us know, the women in today’s generation have been forced to operate in a role God created for man back in the Adam and Eve days. Unfortunately, we have not performed well in that area or have decided to selfishly run away from the responsibility.
In order to save the family today, tomorrow and in the future, we (Men) MUST stop the generational curse of running away from our responsibilities like selfish cowards and decide today to lead our family no matter the obstacles. In the 7 years of being married to my best friend, I’ve learned that being consistent is the MOST powerful expression of love, commitment and leadership a husband can display towards his wife and his family as a whole.
Help to save our dying families by starting with yourselves.
Be consistent in leading your wife with gentleness. Be consistent in raising your daughters to respect themselves and your sons to be God fearing leaders not only at home but especially at school and in their neighborhoods. Help to put an end to this downward trend – when young men die (physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.) families die along with them.
Despite growing up without a father figure his entire life, Lawrence was influenced by his mother to stray away from the gang and drug influences in their neighborhood, as well as a mentor to continue with his education. After graduating from college, working as a design engineer in the telecom field and volunteering with various youth programs, Lawrence felt the tug to establish Integrity (iM) Mentors–a Christian non-profit mentoring program for at-risk youth. He and his wife have three children.
