Today’s post is inspired by Five Minute Friday. On this day, hundreds of bloggers are taking five minutes to write–unscripted and unedited–about the same topic.
This week’s prompt: Present
“..you are to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
– Romans 12:1
These days you can find a fast food restaurant on just about every corner.
During our latest grocery shopping trip, it was crazy how many boxes and containers of processed foods we had in our shopping cart. It’s no secret that America has an obesity problem. Just walk through your local mall, zoo, park or whatever to see that.
I get it, it’s convenient and easy.
But, what are we teaching our kids about how to present their bodies when we’re feeding them so much junk?
There’s a food revolution brewing in the way we eat–partly due to the prevalence of so many diseases and allergies–but it’s a good thing. From clean eating, veganism, Gluten free diets, organic, etc.
I’m not anxiously jumping on the bandwagon…I mean I like easy and convenient eating and cooking, but I know I’m not doing my body right nor my kids. I’m curious about it all. I’m slowly inching my toes to the water.
What’s your take on the food revolution that’s brewing? Have you started rethinking what you and your family eat? What new things are you trying?
